Prayer for Religious Freedom
Almighty God, Father of all nations, “For freedom you have set us free in Christ Jesus.” (Gal. 5:1)
We praise and bless you for the gift of religious liberty, the foundation of human rights, justice, and the common good. Grant to our leaders the wisdom to protect and promote our liberties; and by your grace, may we have the courage to defend them, for ourselves and for all those who live in this blessed land. We ask this through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, our patroness, and in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, with whom you live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
St. Michael Parish Building Prayer
Loving and Provident God, Creator of all and Builder of the Universe, We, the parish family of St. Michael, humbly ask your continued blessing on the spiritual, human and financial commitment we have made for the building of our new Church and School and the fulfillment of Your Kingdom on earth. Unless You build the house We labor in vain to build it. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of God, St. Joseph the builder and our patron, St. Michael the Archangel, bring to perfection the good work You have begun in us. We ask this through Christ the Lord. Amen.
A Stewardship Parish Prayer
My parish is composed of people like me. I help make it what it is. It will be friendly, if I am. It will be holy, if I am. Its pews will be filled, if I help fill them. It will do great work, if I work. It will be prayerful, if I pray. It will make generous gifts to many causes, if I am a generous giver. It will bring others into its worship if I invite and bring them. It will be a parish of loyalty and love, of fearlessness and faith, of compassion, charity, and mercy, if I, who make it what it is, am filled with these same things. Therefore, with the help of God, I now dedicate myself to the task of being all the things that I want my parish to be. Amen.
St. Michael the Archangel defend us!
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
God of love and mercy, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks.
You call us to a deeper relationship with your Son, Jesus, who gave us the Great Commission to “go forth and make disciples.”
Help us to know Him intimately, encounter Him profoundly, and serve Him wholeheartedly.
Make us His faithful disciples.
Send your Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and courage to accept the challenges and opportunities that come with advancing the mission of your Church.
Keep us steadfast in faith, confident in hope, generous in charity, joyful in spirit, and constant in prayer.
Teach us to imitate Jesus in our thoughts, words, and deeds and so build your Kingdom.
To you be all glory and honor, forever and ever. Amen.
Mary, Queen of Apostles, pray for us.
St. Joseph, Protector of Holy Church, pray for us.
St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us.
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
