Divine-Mercy-Sunday-250x300Mercy – Perhaps one of the best kept secrets  in terms of the Church’s devotional life is the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Divine Mercy is a relatively new devotion based on an ancient revelation of God Himself. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is based on revelations of Jesus to Sister Faustina in Poland in the 1930s. Mercy is something we all need – divine mercy and human mercy. Thanks be to God, whose mercy and forgiveness led to Him assuming humanity. As God forgives us, He asks us to forgive others. Forgiveness takes a lot – to forgive and to accept forgiveness. Jesus is very clear about how mercy is to be meted out – Matthew 5:23 ff. If you need to be forgiven or forgive, do it today. Don’t put off until tomorrow what could or should be done today.
